This is a Filarmonica 13 Novodur "Para Profesionales" Jose Monserrat Pou, 13/16 wide, full hollow ground shave ready straight razor made in Spain.

Filarmonica is probably the most collectible brand and a for a good reason. The smoothness of shaves is unparalleled. Deep engravings on the front and back shanks. The blade is decorated on the show side with "Filarmonica Novodur Para Profesionales" and the Filarmonica harp in beautiful gold wash. Jimps on the bottom and top of the shank for better grip. Original Filarmonica scales. All JMP Filarmonica straight razors are Doble Temple.

This razor looks better, will appreciate in value, and probably will outlast a new plastic Gillette razor oh by a few decades.

This razor was professionally honed. The cutting edge of this blade is sharp, and smooth capable of very close and comfortable shaves. This razor is shave-ready.

What does shave ready mean? This razor is shave-ready that means you can shave with the razor right out-of-the-box upon arrival. In order to get a razor shave ready it has to be honed. Honing usually costs $25 plus shipping by most vendors. This is important to know because most razors sold ANYWHERE are not shave ready even if they are new (i.e a new Dovo). New razors have "factory edges" which is not considered shave ready by the majority of straight razor users. If a straight razor is not shave ready it will not shave comfortably. Feel free to contact me for my honing services.

Why buy from me? Because if you buy a straight razor from me I will teach you how to shave with a straight razor. I will send you specific, concise instructions on how to shave with and maintain your straight razor. This information took me a long time to learn, often through painful trial and error.

Also there is no such thing as a "beginner straight razor". If it appeals to you, get it. The listing is only for the one razor described.

Please look at my other razors and items and feel free to ask questions. Thanks.
